We hope that our website highlights the worship and  fellowship we offer.

 

We are located at the intersection of Allison Avenue and Palm Avenue, a block east of the La Mesa Trolley station.  A map is available on the   "Visit Us" page.

 

Our Mission

 

(From The Church Manual by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 17):

 

"The purpose of this church is to reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."

 

This church is a branch church of The First Church of Christ, Scientist , in Boston, Massachusetts, which was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy.

Reading Room

 

   The Reading Room is an oasis in the historic La Mesa Village.

 

In the Reading Room you will find prayerful solutions to everyday problems, including health concerns.

 

You may ask questions about Christian Science and find practical tools to help you on your spiritual journey.

 

If you just need a quiet area to study the Bible and commune with God, the Reading Room is for you.

 

It is a storehouse of spiritual nourishment to feed, heal, and sustain the hungry heart.

 

Everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, is welcome to visit, study, and pray,at the Reading

Room.

Services are held in the Auditorium and in the Sunday School, at the same time:

Our Sunday service is based on a weekly Christian Science

Bible Lesson-Sermon from our Pastor, the Holy Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which is read aloud each

This week our Lesson-Sermon, comprised of selections from The Holy Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, is "Love."

-Latest News/Events:     1) Sermon on the Mount:  Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health  “The
                                                  Sermon on the Mount is the essence of this Science, and the eternal life,
                                                  not the death of Jesus, is its outcome.” And in her Prose Works: “To my
                                                  sense the Sermon on the Mount, read each Sunday without comment
                                                  and obeyed throughout the week, would be enough for Christian
                                                  practice.”

                                                  In the spirit of this, the Sermon on the Mount will be read aloud one

                                                  Sunday of each month, immediately following the service and postlude.

                                                  The Sunday for the reading is TBD.  We will post it here when it has been

                                                  decided.  Thank you for  your patience.
