This church is a branch church of The First Church of Christ, Scientist , in Boston, Massachusetts, which was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy.

Reading Room


   The Reading Room is an oasis in the historic La Mesa Village.


In the Reading Room you will find prayerful solutions to everyday problems, including health concerns.


You may ask questions about Christian Science and find practical tools to help you on your spiritual journey.


If you just need a quiet area to study the Bible and commune with God, the Reading Room is for you.


It is a storehouse of spiritual nourishment to feed, heal, and sustain the hungry heart.


Everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, is welcome to visit, study, and pray,at the Reading

-Latest News/Events:     1) Sermon on the Mount:  Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health
                                                “The Sermon on the Mount is the essence of this Science, and the
                                                  eternal life, not the death of Jesus, is its outcome.” And in her
                                                  Prose Works: “To my sense the Sermon on the Mount, read each
                                                  Sunday without comment and obeyed throughout the week, would
                                                  be enough for Christian practice.”

                                                  In the spirit of this, the Sermon on the Mount will be read aloud the
                                                  1st Sunday of each month, immediately following the service and
                                                  postlude. All are welcome to join us.

                                             3)  Thanksgiving Service
                                                   a) Please join us for the Thanksgiving Day Service, on November 25 at
                                                       10 am, in-person or by phone or internet. The service will include
                                                       hymns of gratitude and praise, the reading of the Presidential
                                                       Thanksgiving Proclamation, an inspirational message from the
                                                       Bible and the Christian Science text book, and an opportunity for
                                                       the congregation to express their gratitude to God for all His
                                                       goodness. Everyone is welcome.
